Passing of LTC Al Rose - Trung Tá Al Rose đã tung cánh dù bay vào vùng miên viễn

All
I pass this email from SOA member Luke Dove regarding the recent  passing of Covey Pilot  LTC Al Rose.

Rick

I don’t know the official policy of notifying SOA membership of a death.  However, I am sending this email to notify the SOA leadership of the recent death of LTC (Ret.) Al Rose, US Air Force.
Al was one of the best of the “Covey” pilots flying out of Pleiku with 20th Tactical Air Support Squadron.  There are many former team leaders and members from FOB 2/CCC who will be able next week to enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner with their families due to the dedication and bravery of Lt. Rose.  Al never hesitated regardless of weather or enemy fire.  He was committed to SOG and the missions.  He was always one of the first in line to answer a Prairie Fire emergency call or to come to a party in Kontum.  I think Al left Vietnam without any air medals because we failed to bother to do the paper work.  But he was certainly deserving.
Al was one of the Coveys who covered the company unit from FOB 2 which interdicted the Ho Chi Minh trail for several days.
I saw Al’s heroism first hand and I want to say to SOA that we owe him—and many others---a debt of gratitude.
